Grades and Grade Reports
The grading system for each specific course will be explained to the students by the course instructor.
Advance College Project (ACP) course grades of A, B, and C will appear on the official transcript and transfer automatically to any Indiana University (IU) campus. Grades of D or F will also appear on the transcript. Each university, other than IU, governs its own policy regarding grades.
Because the high school semester ends later than the IU semester and final grades are not reported on the same schedule as IU's grade reports, ACP students may receive a grade report that shows "NR" (not reported) in place of a final grade. Students should disregard this report. After final grade rosters are sent to the ACP office at the close of the high school semesters, grades are recorded with the respective IU Office of the Registrar and become part of the student's official transcript. The ACP office will send a "Course Completed Letter" for each ACP student to teachers who record the final grade as reported on the final grade roster. This letter carries the signatures of the ACP director and the course instructor. It is not an official transcript, but it does verify to the student the grade reported by the ACP instructor. Students are advised to keep the Course Completed Letter with their other course materials for verification.
NOTE: The Course Completed Letter is not an official transcript. The student will, however, receive a Transcript Request Form and a letter of instruction in May of the senior year in high school. By mailing this request along with a check or money order, the student can have a transcript sent anywhere designated. Visit the Request for an IU Transcript page for details. The ACP office cannot request a transcript for the student; it is the student's responsibility.
