How to become an ACP student
We are pleased that you are interested in Indiana University's Advance College Project (ACP) and the opportunities it can provide you. By participating in this dual credit (also known as concurrent enrollment) program, not only can you earn credits for high school and for college, but also you are setting the stage for your transition into the world of higher academics—whether at IU or at other colleges and universities that accept our credits. In today's world, getting a early start can mean everything in terms of mapping out your future. We welcome your visit to ACP.
- Learn the following information about ACP:
- Determine if your school is an ACP participating high school and see which IU campus your high school registers its ACP students through.
- Learn about ACP admission standards to see if you qualify for the program.
- See ACP course listings to examine the course(s) offered at your high school. Speak to the teachers or coordinators at your school to find out about the actual course requirements.
- Discuss the program with your parents and then visit your guidance counselor to learn about the procedure for enrollment.
- Complete the student portion of the ACP Student Application form and return it to the course teacher or the ACP registration coordinator in your school. (NOTE: Except for the students registering through IU East and IU Northwest, payment should not be included with the ACP Student Application. Billing will occur once the application process is completed.)
- Ask your guidance counselor to complete the high school endorsement (GPA, class rank, test score) portion of your application form. Your teacher will notify you of your acceptance into the program. Your application will be returned by the ACP coordinator in your high school to the appropriate IU campus. ACP course enrollments are processed at the appropriate IU campus in a special registration.
- Once you are officially enrolled, read the information in the Student Guide to learn about the privileges and responsibilities as an ACP student.
