Submitting Grade Reports to IU
An audit roster is produced for all ACP courses by the ACP office to verify course section enrollment. These are mailed to instructors before mid-semester. Instructors should verify names, and enrollment status of all ACP students. Any inaccuracies should be reported to the ACP office in Bloomington immediately so that the final grade rosters are absolutely accurate. In addition, subsequent mailings to students such as transfer request forms depend on the accuracy of the course enrollment record. For purposes of confidentiality, student audit rosters should not be duplicated or circulated in a way that students will see other students' ID numbers.
Final grade rosters are forwarded to the course instructors for completion at the end of the semester/block/trimester. For schools on non-traditional schedules, please notify the ACP office two weeks prior to the course completion.
The IU campus semester is usually shorter than the high school semester. At the end of the IU semester, the Registrars on the respective campuses issue grade reports to students in a computerized process that includes all students. ACP students may receive this mailing.
NOTE: Because the high school semester ends later than the IU semester and final grades are not reported on the same schedule as they are on campus, ACP students may receive a grade report that shows "NR" (not reported) in place of a final grade.
ACP instructors must warn students to disregard this report. After final grade rosters are sent to the ACP office at the close of the high school semesters, grades are recorded with the respective Registrars and become part of the student's official transcript. The ACP office will send a "Course Completed Letter" for each ACP student to teachers who record the final grade as reported on the final grade roster. This letter carries the signatures of the ACP director and the course instructor. It is not an official transcript, but it does verify to the student the grade reported by the ACP instructor. Students are advised to keep the Course Completed Letter with their other course materials for verification. Students should visit the Request for an IU Transcript page for details for ordering an IU transcript.
