Transfer of ACP Credits to Purdue University
The Advance College Project has special arrangements with some departments at Purdue University. ACP courses not listed on this page are not guaranteed to transfer to Purdue University unless the courses are listed on the Core Transfer Library, www.transferin.net, and a grade of C or better was earned. Credit for some ACP courses can be earned by taking the relevant AP examination and earning a score high enough to validate the ACP experience.
Mathematics M211/M215 and M212/M216 (Calculus I and II)
If you earned a scaled score of 70% or higher on the final examination you should be able to transfer credit to Purdue. M211 and M215 are equivalent to Purdue’s MA 165. M212 and M216 are equivalent to Purdue’s MA 166. All calculus students who eventually attend Purdue should contact Terry Loro at loro@math.purdue.edu about transferring mathematics credit.
Step 1: If you plan to attend Purdue University, you should have filled out and returned to your ACP teacher an Authorization to Release Grade Information form for each ACP calculus course you want to transfer to Purdue.
Step 2: Have an official IU transcript sent to Purdue.
English W131 (Composition)
You must earn a final grade of C or better in the ACP W131 course to transfer credit. At a minimum, you are assured of receiving three hours credit in Purdue’s English 103 for the W131 you took with ACP. If you have questions, please contact Linda Haynes, Assistant Director of Introductory Composition at Purdue at 765-496-1643 or email lhaynes@purdue.edu. Note: Purdue’s English 103 satisfies the basic composition requirement in most schools and colleges at Purdue. Contact an academic advisor in the Purdue school or college you plan to attend for more information.
Step 1: Take or mail to Purdue’s Office of Admissions the Course Work Completed letter on Indiana University Bloomington letterhead that you got from your ACP instructor. Request that Purdue attach the letter to your IU transcript, once the transcript arrives at Purdue.
Step 2: Have an official IU transcript sent to Purdue.
Step 3: In the event there is a problem with the transfer of W131 to a specific college contact Dorothy Reed at Purdue.
English L202 (Literature)
English L202 is on the Core Transfer Library, but it does not satisfy an English requirement at Purdue; however, it will transfer to Purdue as an undistributed elective in the humanities. You must earn a final grade in of C or better in L202 to transfer the credit.
Step 1: Have an official IU transcript sent to Purdue.
Psychology P101
If you plan on majoring in Psychological Sciences at Purdue you must earn a C or better in IU’s P101 AND in IU’s P102. Otherwise, Purdue will award undistributed credit toward the Psychological Sciences major. If you do not plan on majoring in Psychological Sciences at Purdue, P101 will transfer in as undistributed credit.
Step 1: Have an official IU transcript sent to Purdue.
